Henry Morrison Flagler Museum -- Coconut Row, Palm Beach. 561-655-2833. Henry Flagler, co-founder of Standard Oil, also built the railroad that would link Jacksonville and Key West. The museum features a house restored to turn-of-the-century condition and displaying many original furnishings. Open: Tues-Sat: 10a-5p; Sun: noon-5p.

Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts -- 701 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, Florida. 561-833-8300. This beautiful center opened in 1992 and features a large curved glass facade housing three different performance areas featuring over 300 musical, theatrical, and dance performances a year. Lion Country Safari -- Southernmost Blvd. West, West Palm Beach. 561-793-1084. Over 1,300 animals from around the world reside in this 500 acre game preserve. This drive through experience allows a first hand view of the protected breeding grounds for a variety of endangered species. Picnics, an adjacent amusement park, and camping are also featured. The Rapids Golf, Slide, and Bankshot -- Military Trail, north of 45th Street, West Palm Beach. 561-842-8756. Open March through September, this family entertainment attraction features four water slides, an artificial rive, large Jacuzzi, dozens of waterfalls, game room, and 19 hole miniature golf course. South Florida Science Museum and Planetarium -- 4801 Dreher Trail N., West Palm Beach. 561-832-1988. Hands-on exhibits teach about natural phenomena and physics. Featuring an observatory, planetarium, and aquarium with a variety of marine species in several tanks, and laser light shows on weekends. Open: Museum: Sat-Thurs: 10a-5p, Fri: 10a-10p; planetarium: shows Mon-Thurs at 2p, Fri at 2p and 7p, Sat-Sun at noon and 2p; Observatory: Fri: 8p-10p, weather permitting.

Palm Beach Public Golf Course -- 2345 South Ocean Blvd. 561 547-0598. This public 18 hole course with par-54 and greens between 100 and 235 yards from the tee. Run on a first-come, first-serve basis, the course opens at 8a.
